Athens Cheap Hotels

Can anyone suggest a budget hotel in Athens, Greece, near Hilton Hotel?

I will be in Athens for four days in September for a Conference which will be held in Hilton Hotel at Athens. I'd like a budget hotel near it. Any ideas?

3. Well, I found one called Zappeion Hotel, which is about 15mins walking distance from the Hilton, but from the comments the guests were not that enthused... You may look for hotels close to a Metro station (blue line) (http://www.ametro.gr/) or on the red line and close to Syntagma. Avoid hotels at Omonoia Square or Metaxourgeio because it is not a really good area to stay at... There are some hotels on Athinas Street, as the Cecil Hotel (http://www.gto.gr/gr/accomm/hotel/detail.php?id=1803) which is close to Monastiraki metro station it is decent and not very expensive, really close to clubs and bars etc. The Hilton Hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the Evangelismos metro station (blue line). You may also take a look at www.gto.gr there are tons of hotels to choose from.. :) Close to the Hilton hotel (as in in 5mins walking distance) there are only expensive hotels.. Sorry!!
